This creates a small calendar in Excel when you need to pick a date.
This Excel Date Picker that creates a pop-up calendar in Excel is an add-in program for Microsoft Excel. No VBA or macro code has been used in the design of the tool and it works for both traditional Excel toolbar as well as the ribbon menu styles. This add-in is compatible with Excel 2003, Excel 2007, Excel 2010 and Excel 2013, both 32 and 64 bit. This add-in is intelligent enough that it will recognize the fields that have been formatted as date cells. It will also recognize cells that contain a date or is below the heading “Date”. The pop-up calendar will show several months, show week numbers, etc. It will recognize dates in all the valid formats acceptable in Windows/Excel. Because it is shown in a calendar format, there will be no confusion in picking a date.
When entering a date value, you click on the cell and an in-cell icon button appears. On clicking the icon button the calendar is displayed. You need to simply click the desired date. Controls are available if you need to go back or forward by months and years. If you like, the calendar could be displayed automatically when a date cell is selected. In the ribbon menu based versions, the pop-up Excel Calendar creates a separate tab "Pop-up Calendar". The tab contains 5 buttons, as Calendar, Settings, Disable, Help and About Calendar. The calendar menu items display the calendar. Settings item controls how the calendar works. Disable menu item will help disable it. The other menu items have the usual meaning. This is a good tool and you could try it out if needed.
